Neil has been Academic Director of Interaction Ivrea since September 2005.
Originally a graphic designer and typographer, Neil completed an MA in Graphic Design at the Royal College of Art in 1991, with an interest in emerging digital media and worked for 2 years with BT, designing interface, digital media initiatives, and advising on design. Neil worked with Wolff Olins to create the first BT guidelines for the design of visual interfaces. Neil setup digital media company Edwards Churcher with Rodney Edwards in 1996 to deliver user centric design for complex information systems. Working initially in the financial information, information delivery, banking and telecommunications sectors, clients included Symbian, Cellnet, AOL, Reuters, Thomson Financial, Phillips, Compaq Computers, HMSO. Neil also worked in interactive exhibition, advertising and entertainment work for clients including The Design Museum London, The Science Museum London, Conde Nast, Nike and FIFA. Neil has been working with Interaction Ivrea on a part time basis since 2002, on workshop initiatives for Orange, France Telecom, Nokia, Telecom Italia Mobile and Telecom Italia Labs. Neil became a full time, Associate Professor for the Institute in 2004. |
