Education   MS in Computer Science specialized in Multimedia and Creative Technology, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA (2004)
BS in Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan (2001)
 
Bio   Chia-Ying started music cognition research when she was a student research assistant in National Taiwan University. In this time she worked on a new representation for rhythms closer to how humans perceive music. In 2003 she wrote a programme for generating jazz-like melodies with genetic algorithm. Before she came to Ivrea, Chia-Ying was developing an algorithm for classifying music genres with rhythm. She also did projects in computer graphics, including non-photorealistic rendering and earthquake simulation.
